I haven't reviewed much lately because of the end of the semester and starting work again. I should have more time now. So check back.

| Let me out!!! |

I found this on Kotaku.
Sphere is one of those get out of the room flash games. This is the best one I have played so far. I tend to have trouble with these and sadly I find it impossible to figure out on my own. I used the comments on the Kotaku post to help me out a little but I'm proud to say I figured out the marble equation at the end all by myself!

| Attention Geeky Girls! See This! |
[09 Mar 2007|02:26pm] |
This is for all you girly geeks who love comics.
No Pink Ponies is a web comic about a girly geek, Jess, who opens her own comic store, Chix Comix. I think you'll thoroughly enjoy the geeky drama, the cheesy jokes, and the comic parodies (like Flying Mouse Man and Tigrine). The art is professional with a mix of American and manga styles. Till recently I thought the author, Eisu, was female but apparently not. Opps, me bad. I give him props for giving a female perspective and being, so far, accurate. No Pink Ponies was updated every Mon, Wed, Fri but I believe it will be changing to Tue, Thurs, Sat with a colored comic on Sun. Eisu does tend to miss updates lately but can you blame him for having a life? I didn't think so. Go enjoy No Pink Ponies!

| Manson vs Elfman |
[05 Mar 2007|07:59pm] |
This probably has been around for awhile but I just discovered it today:
Marilyn Manson's cover of "This is Halloween" from Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. It's featured on the two disc set soundtrack. I'm not really a Manson fan (I will listen to his music but I won't take the time to seek it out) but I am a huge Danny Elfman fan. I must say Manson didn't do to bad. I prefer the track with out the video because there are some sync problems. I do recommend listening to it at least once. Otherwise, I'd stick with the original or my personal favorite, Danny Elfman's Demo.

| 365 Interesting People |
[05 Mar 2007|07:45pm] |
I came across this awhile ago through zefrank.com .
It is 365 Portraits by Bill Wadman. He is taking photographs of an individual everyday for a year and posting them. He is an amazing artist and really captures the spirit of his subjects. The portraits are also a great source for character reference.

| Let's Begin |
[05 Mar 2007|06:48pm] |
|
Black & Pink Roses will feature reviews on movies, books, games, music and the like. Also random interesting information, objects and such that I discover. Black & Pink Roses expresses a personal goal of mine which is to write more. I am mostly a fiction writer but hopefully Black & Pink Roses will show my other writing qualities. So please let me know how I'm doing and enjoy.
Sincerely, Des
